The trail runs north-west of the town Protivín, in the countryside among Protivín and the villages Nová Ves and Těšínov.

The trail introduces natural, technical, and historical interests of scenically interesting region. It was named after the nature interest Zelendárky - the system of 10 protected ponds.

The circular trail is passable for both hiking tourists and cyclists. It is 11.5 km long and it is marked with green-white signs. The path with 17 informative boards starts in Protivín.
The most interesting places on the trail are a saw-mill in the settlement Podkrčí, a place called Landstrasse or a place reminding of former gold-mining and gold-washing in the region.
