The mountain settlement Kubova Huť is a well-known winter centre in the Šumava mountains (Bohemian Forest). It lies at the foot of Boubín mountain in the Protected Landscape Area Šumava, 1,003 m a.s.l. It is situated about 10 km south of the town Vimperk. The local railway station is the highest one in the Czech Republic (995 m).

It used to be a settlement with glassworks and its name means "Kuba's Glassworks". Presently, it is a well-known holiday centre with ski-lifts and is a favourite starting point of trips to the peak of Boubín mountain as well.
The instructional trail Zlatá Stezka (Golden Path) also passes through the settlement.

The forests in the surroundings conceal a few bunkers from the 1930's - they were components of the fortification system on the southern border of former Czechoslovakia.
