The remains of the Hrochův Hrádek castle ("Hroch's Small Castle") lie 3 km east of the town Březnice on the dividing line between South Bohemia and Central Bohemia, 510 m a.s.l.

Originally there was a Slavonic fortified settlement. A Gothic fortress was built in its place in the 13th century. It was not used for a long time and about 1475 it was abandoned.
The tower of the palace and mound with moats have been preserved up till present.

The railroad from Březnice to the town Písek leads near the ruins. The red marked path from Březnice (5 km) or from the castle village Orlík nad Vltavou (about 22 km) or the blue marked one from the small town Mirovice (14 km) run to the castle.
