The Červený Dvůr ("Red Yard") chateau lies about 8 km north-west of the town Český Krumlov in the Protected Landscape Area Blanský Les (Blansko Forest) near the road from Český Krumlov to the small town Chvalšiny.

Originally there was so-called "Chvalšiny New Yard" founded by Vilém from Romžberk in 1591. Vilém's brother Petr Vok established a large park for breeding beavers in that place. In 1672 Marie Arnoštka from Eggenberk built a Baroque mansion with a chapel situated in the northern wing of the building. In the first half of the 18th century the artificial cave was built in the park. In that time also the duct for feeding fountains was built. At the end of the 18th century the chateau was enlarged with side wings. It was under the ownership of Josef Adam from Schwarzenberg (1741 - 1782), who also enlarged the park and built several romantic objects there (Baroque summer houses, artificial caves, etc.) Some of them were demolished in the 19th century, only the Marian Column in the Neo-Gothic style was added.

The complex includes the chateau with farm buildings (closing the big rectangular yard) and 105 ha large park with several romantic objects.
In present in the park there can be seen remains of fountains, the Neo-Gothic pheasantry, a garden house with walls covered with bark from trees, the stone obelisk, etc. in the park.

The chateau (used as a sanatorium) is not open to public, the access to the park is free.

The instructional trail Červený Dvůr leads through the park. It is about 3 km long and there are 17 informative boards along the path. The texts on boards inform of the history of the chateau and the park, of objects in the park and also of important woods and animal species occurred in the park.
