The nature reserve Vrbenské Rybníky (Vrbné Ponds) comprises 4 ponds lying on the north-western outskirts of the town České Budějovice: Černiš pond, Domin pond, Starý Vrbenský Rybník (Old Vrbné Pond) and Nový Vrbenský Rybník (New Vrbné Pond).

The reserve was established on 1st April 1990 for the protection of the rare marshy, water and meadow ecosystems - more than 80 species of birds and the unique butterfly population in South Bohemia live here.

The instructive trail Po Hrázích Vrbenských Rybníků (Along the Dams of Vrbné Ponds) leads through the reserve.
