The small town Žinkovy lies about 7 km west of the town Nepomuk on the Úslava river, 464 m a.s.l.

The history of the town dates back to the 12th century - it was a property of the Lords of Žinkovy. A lot of owners changed there and in the 19th century the domain became a property of the Lobkowitz family.

The dominant feature of Žinkovy is the Baroque chateau in the nature park on the bank of the Žinkovský Rybník (Žinkovy Pond). It was built in the 17th century in the place of the original water fortress from the 13th century. The chateau was reconstructed twice: for the first time in 1897 in the Pseudo-Gothic and Pseudo-Baroque styles and for the second time in 1916.
The Baroque St. Wenceslas' Church originates in the 18th century.

An interesting boulder formation can be seen on the hillside of the hill not far from the chateau.
The ruins of the Potštejn castle (from the middle of the 13th century) and the vestiges of the former Slavonic primeval fort can be found below the top of the hill.
