The village Rychnov nad Malší lies about 2.5 km north-east of the small town Dolní Dvořiště, 575 m a.s.l.

The history of the village dates back to the 14th century. The most known sight is the St. Andrew's Church. The originally Gothic church was reconstructed at the beginning of the 18th century.

The small village Svatý Kámen nad Malší with the famous pilgrimage Church of Our Lady of Snow is situated about 2 km south-east of Rychnov nad Malší.
The ruins of the Tichá fortress can be seen about 5 km south-east of the village.
