The village Střelské Hoštice is located about 5 km south-east of the town Horažďovice on the left bank of the Otava river, 415 m a.s.l.

The history of the village dates back to the 13th century. The church with the fortress are mentioned here in the 14th century, but the fortress was later destroyed.

The originally Renaissance mansion from the second half of the 16th century is worth mentioning. The Classicist St. Martin's Church, standing near the square, originates from the 19th century.

The remains of the gold mining - placers - can be found in the surroundings of the village along the Otava river. The remains of the burial mounds can be seen in the forest north of the village (about 1.5 km).
