The village Herálec is located about 6 km east of the town Humpolec, 566 m a.s.l.

Herálec was the medieval commendam of the Teutonic Order.
The fortified St. Bartholomew's Church originates from the 13th century. It burnt down and then it was rebuilt several times. Its present appearance is from the last reconstruction between 1873 - 1880, when the last remains of the fortification were destroyed.

The well-known sight in the village is the Baroque chateau from 1658 - 1661. It was reconstructed in the Neo-Gothic style in the second half of the 19th century.

The plaque with bust on the chateau memorialize a sojourn of the important Czech painter Adolf Kosárek.
