The village Chyšky is situated about 9 km north of the town Milevsko, 666 m a.s.l.

There is no reference to the foundation of the village, but the legend says, that the village arose near the gold mines. The mounds of sand in the surroundings of the village can be proof of this presumption.

The church and the rectory are the oldest parts of Chyšky. The originally Romanesque St. Procopius' Church was rebuilt during the 13th century into the Gothic style and later it was reconstructed again. Examples of the rural architecture of the 19th century can be seen in the neighbouring villages.

The protected area Hodkov with original vegetation of beeches is situated north of Chyšky.
